Organisation Details

Ladybarn Community Hub

Activity type: Community Work, Event Support, LGBT+, Older People
Stellify Award: This opportunity is part of 'Make a Difference'
Organisation Description: Local community hub running groups for older people and more in the community
Description of role: Ladybarn Community Hub has recently started an LGBTQ+ coffee morning, for everyone to attend. We are looking for volunteers to help sustain the coffee morning and support it on a weekly basis.

The coffee morning runs from 10:30 - 12 on Tuesday mornings, so volunteers will be needed from 10 - 12:30 to help set up, serve tea and toast and chat to the group members to make them feel welcome, and then clear up. Volunteers will also help to promote the coffee mornings by getting the word out to other students, and helping to post on our social media and other places.

We will be organising monthly speakers, and volunteers will also be able to help shape the coffee mornings as they develop, by organising activities and creating a welcoming atmosphere. This is a fantastic opportunity to support LGBTQ+ community, meet new people, and give back to your local area.

Ladybarn Community Hub is a five minute walk from the Friendship pub, with easy access from the 143, 142 and 50 bus routes.
