Organisation Description: Venture Arts is an award-winning visual arts organisation working with learning disabled artists to create opportunities in arts and culture.
Description of role: Venture Arts is an award-winning visual arts organisation working with learning disabled artists. Through our studio programmes, exhibitions and collaborative projects, we remove barriers to the arts, we put artists in the lead, we champion neurodiversity and provide pathways for every individual to develop their creative identity.
Venture Arts equips people to succeed as artists, advocates, cultural workers, educators, curators and critics.
We are looking for volunteers to help in supporting and assisting in our visual arts workshops for learning disabled artists. Tasks may include:
Working with participants to encourage their creative work, often working one to one.
Supporting participants to achieve their best, increase creative skills, confidence and social skills.
Accompanying participants on field trips for projects.
Supporting the Art Facilitators in the provision of the workshops.
Helping to clear up after the workshop and encourage participants to help tidy up.
To help in organising and tidying workshop equipment.
We offer travel and lunch expenses* to be discussed during your induction.
Venture Arts is accessible by a number of different bus routes, and there is free parking on the streets surrounding the Venture Arts studio.
