Organisation Description: North West Ambulance Service NHS Trust
Description of role: We established a Patient and Public Panel to give members of the public a voice and the chance to have their views acted upon. The panel is made up of representatives from local communities, interest groups, the voluntary sector and partner organisations, and offers meaningful opportunities to influence improvements in our emergency, patient transport and 111 services.
Our Patient and Public Panel (PPP) is made up of representatives over the age of 16 from all backgrounds, beliefs, cultures and circumstances across local communities to influence improvements in our emergency, patient transport and 111 services. We have three different levels of involvement, so our PPP is flexible and suitable for all to get involved in a way that suits them best. We have over 200 members signed up to our PPP, with 50 members signed up aged 16-24 across all three levels to help improve their local ambulance service by sharing their feedback with us.
Varying levels of participation enable people to get involved in a way that suits them best, depending on the amount of time and level of interest they have. It can even be done virtually!
