Organisation Description: Irish Community Care is a registered charity which exists to identify and respond to the needs of both the Irish and Irish Traveller communities across the north west.



We currently offer a range of front-line information, advice and outreach support services including welfare benefits advice and advocacy, support around homelessness, seeking more appropriate accommodation, poor health, drug or alcohol misuse, cultural and social isolation. We also facilitate activities and groups to enrich and grow our community
Description of role: This is a wonderful opportunity to help with re-vitalising one of our incredibly popular Social Lunch Groups. After having to take an extended break due to Covid-19 we are recommencing our social lunches for members of the Irish (and wider) communities across Manchester. With Bingo, raffles, music and (sometimes) even dancing, this opportunity is a great chance to learn about the Irish culture and help socially isolated and vulnerable members of our community.

Role Activities:
Set up and arrange furniture appropriately and safely.
Assist in the serving of refreshments to our service users.
Socialise with the service users who attend the lunch clubs
Coordinate weekly raffles and bingo games in line with ICCM’s financial procedures.
Build and maintain relationships with staff, services users and volunteers.
Liaise regularly with the staff at ICCM in order to update them on support needed.
Follow the guidelines set out by the Irish Community Care Manchester Volunteer Agreement.
Read and adhere to the Health and Safety and Safeguarding Policies.
Be comfortable volunteering in a public facing position.

Eligibility:
The role of Lunch Group volunteer is open to all those with basic digital literacy and organisational skills. We particularly welcome volunteers from a variety of backgrounds
Skills / qualities associated with the role: Customer Service, Event Planning, Fundraising, Practical Skills, Team Working
