Organisation Description: At George House Trust, we provide support, advice and information for people living with HIV. We are committed to ensuring that people have access to what they need to live well with HIV. We have a number of activities and services that volunteers can get involved in, such as Telephone Buddies, supporting at events, fundraising, admin support and mentoring, and many more.
Description of role: World AIDS Day is an International Day of Awareness raising, remembrance and action held on 1st December each year. We need volunteers to help with face-to-face awareness raising and introducing George House Trust to people in different boroughs on Monday the 1st of December during the daytime.
Activities include:
• Raising awareness of HIV and the significance of World AIDS Day to the people
• Talking to the public to share key messages on ending the stigma of HIV and HIV prevention (U=U, PrEP, PEP, condoms)
• Sharing resources and introducing the George House Trust (sharing information cards, flyers, social media profiles) to the public.
Time commitment: Shifts are normally 2-3 hours during the daytime (accurate time will depend on location).
Location: Please let us know which borough/s you would be available to volunteer in. Please select all boroughs that you could travel to. We will assign two volunteers to volunteer together in each borough.
