Organisation Description: At George House Trust, we provide support, advice and information for people living with HIV. We are committed to ensuring that people have access to what they need to live well with HIV. We have a number of activities and services that volunteers can get involved in, such as Telephone Buddies, supporting at events, fundraising, admin support and mentoring, and many more.
Description of role: To provide administrative support to the George House Trust Formula Milk project and ensure that new parents living with HIV have sterilisation equipment and a choice of formula milk for the first 12 months of their child’s life.

As a Formula Milk volunteer your role is integral in ensuring parents have access to milk, it is therefore particularly important that you are reliable and can commit to at least 6 months of volunteering.

9 of the 10 local authorities in Greater Manchester are currently funding George House Trust to administer schemes to provide free formula milk to parents living with HIV for the first 12 months of child’s life. As the formula milk project volunteer, you will develop a good understanding of the challenges faced by new parents living with HIV.

This role is carried out at George House Trust's office in Ardwick, 1 morning or afternoon shift of 4 hours per week (can be split into two shifts of 2 hours each if preferred), with the support of the Formula Milk Project Lead and the wider team.

Key tasks include:

▪ Supporting the George House Trust Formula Milk Project Lead
▪ Ordering formula milk and sterilisation equipment
▪ Raising purchase orders through the organisation’s client management system -Civi CRM
▪ Processing receipts for reimbursement
▪ Keeping records of purchase history, future orders and deliveries using Civi CRM
▪ Keeping in contact with parents to ensure correct milk is ordered and has been received on time
▪ Organising the delivery or collection of formula milk
▪ Being aware of and passing on any safeguarding issues that might arise
▪ Ensuring mothers/parents feel well supported and reporting any concerns to the Formula Milk Project Lead
