– Who we are –

In a nutshell, One Million Mentors' aim is to strengthen communities and level the playing field for young people with high potential but low social capital. We equip and train professionals to mentor young people through mentoring programmes in schools and colleges.

All our mentoring is 1:1 - one mentor matched to one mentee, and is just one hour a month.

Most of our mentoring opportunities are with 14-16 year olds at a school or college environment where the sessions are strictly timetabled into their educational calendars. This is approximately 1 hour per month for 6-12 sessions within school hours and term-times.

– What would you be doing as a volunteer? –

You would be volunteering as part of the EdStart school in Salford - The EdStart school specializes in GCSE education for SEN young people with a view to supporting the students in continuing studies into higher education or transitioning into the workforce. You would be working directly with young people who fall under the SEN category. As a volunteer with One Million Mentors, you will need to have prior experience working with SEN young people or at least be able to demonstrate empathy and kindness with a view to mentoring these young people!
