🍳Volunteer Day: Men's Breakfast Club with Inspired Taskforce🍳 - Friday 10 April

Organisation Details

University of Manchester Volunteering & Awards Team

Sub theme: Older people
Description of role: 🍳On Friday 10th April from 10:00 -12:15pm, we will be volunteering alongside Inspired Taskforce at their Men's Breakfast Group. This is a welcoming weekly session for men aged 50+ to socialise, enjoy conversation and a free breakfast, and feel connected in a relaxed, friendly environment. The group aims to reduce social isolation and enhance wellbeing by bringing people together, offering a listening ear, and providing support & signposting when needed.🍳

💬Students will be helping out where needed and engaging in conversations with the gentlemen at the club. No prior experience is needed, just a positive attitude and a warm approach. We ask students are approachable, good communicators and supportive with the service users who, at times, may be shy or anxious. We will also require assistance in setting up the room, serving tea and coffees as well as cleaning up and tidying the room.💬

🚌The session will take place at Levenshulme Inspire Community Hub (747 Stockport Road, M19 3AR) which is accessible from Fallowfield, Victoria Park and University campus by bus. We will be starting at 10:00am so please arrive as promptly as possible but I understand if there are delays involving buses etc. 🚌
