Description of role: Volunteers will support the delivery of a hands-on STEM holiday programme for children aged 5–16, focused on science experiments, creative exploration, and problem-solving.
Key tasks include:
Assisting with chemistry experiments such as safe reactions (e.g. elephant toothpaste, fizzing reactions)
Supporting physics-based activities including forces, motion, and simple engineering challenges
Helping to facilitate science exploration stations, including microscopes and materials investigation
Encouraging children to ask questions, make predictions, and test their ideas
Supporting group activities, ensuring children remain engaged, safe, and included
Assisting with basic setup, pack down, and maintaining a clean and organised learning space
