❤️ Student Volunteering Week: Big Volunteer Day - Platt Fields Park, Wednesday 11 February ❤️
Organisation Details
University of Manchester Volunteering & Awards Team
Sub theme: Environment
Stellify Award: This opportunity is part of 'Make a Difference'
Description of role: Join us at Platt fields Park, were we will be volunteering to spruce and tidy up! Give something back to your neighbourhood and volunteer alongside your local community.
This year Big Volunteer Day is taking place across three Manchester parks: Platt Fields Park, Whitworth Park and Sackville Gardens. #PickYourPark and join us on the day at your chosen location.
We will be volunteering from 10am - 3pm at Platt Field Park. Sign yourself, your housemates, your course mates, and your society up for more information and to let us know you’re coming (mostly so that we know how many teabags and biscuits to buy!).
We’ll be joining forces with local residents, but we need as many volunteers as possible so that we can complete all the tasks we have planned! You can see what’s in store for you in this video: https://bit.ly/SVWvideo2020.
Desirable skills and qualifications:
You don’t need any skills or qualifications to take part in this volunteering opportunity, just lots of enthusiasm.
Benefits:
Big Volunteer Day gives you the chance to volunteer with other students and volunteers from our partner organisations. You’ll be working in a team, helping to make a massive difference to our local community and helping us to celebrate Student Volunteering Week. And we’ll provide refreshments!
Accessibility:
We want this day to be fully accessible, so for more information or to ask for reasonable adjustments, please get in touch!
Meeting Point:
TBC
How to prepare:
If you are staying for the whole session, please bring your own lunch and water! Tea, coffee and biscuits will be provided.
Please wear appropriate cold/wet weather clothing and sturdy footwear.
