Description of role: We are excited to announce that Team Rwanda is back for summer 2026!
Have you ever wanted to volunteer abroad? Would you like the chance to take part in a team project in Rwanda? Well, look no further as we are now seeking 14 Team Member volunteers for Team Rwanda summer 2026!
Team Rwanda is a fully funded international volunteering project, exclusively for students at the University of Manchester in full or partial receipt of the Manchester Bursary. It is run in partnership with Azizi Life, a social enterprise working in Rwanda with local artisans and communities.
THE PROJECT 2026:
A team of 14 University of Manchester student volunteers will spend a month in Rwanda from 25 July to 23 August, where they will volunteer alongside Rwandan volunteers supporting Azizi Life by delivering three projects:
• Storytelling through media
• Data gathering
• Business and enterprise development
We are also looking for students with an interest in environmental sustainability as this will feed into all the projects.
ELIGIBILITY:
Team Member roles are available to undergraduate University of Manchester students who are in any year of study, including final year students.
Team Members must also be in receipt of / eligible for:
• The Manchester Bursary (partial or full);
• The Undergraduate Access Scholarship.
SKILLS NEEDED:
We are looking for students who are good team players and who are positive, motivated, flexible and keen to get stuck in and make a difference.

All successful candidates will need to be available for the selection day and pre-departure preparation and training, the project, and a Returned Volunteers event.
FUNDING AND FUNDRAISING:
The project is fully funded. All Team Members will be expected to fundraise a target of £400 and will receive training and support to do so.
