Description of role: – Who we are –
In a nutshell, One Million Mentors' aim is to strengthen communities and level the playing field for young people with high potential but low social capital. We equip and train professionals to mentor young people through mentoring programmes in schools, colleges, alternative education programmes and youth organisations.
If you have 5 years work experience (or 2 years if you are a degree holder) you can take part: Go to our website and click 'sign up' https://onemillionmentors.org.uk/
All our mentoring is 1:1 - one mentor matched to one mentee, based as best we can on:
- The career fields you have knowledge and experience in
- The things you say you're able to help with
Your commitment is roughly 1 hour per month for up to a year.
– What are we looking for? –
Most of our mentoring opportunities are with 14-16 year olds. You can take part if you're able to commit to a timetable, which are mostly:
Approximately 1 hour per month for 6-12 sessions
Within school hours and term-times
A scheduled mix of online and face-to-face sessions
– What would you be doing as a volunteer? –
