Sub theme: Heritage
Stellify Award: This opportunity is part of 'Make a Difference'
Description of role: We’re going to be joining the lovely volunteers of Friends of Mauldeth Road Station on a crisp (and hopefully sunny!) Monday morning in November to help them tidy and green the areas around the station. Come and get involved – it’s the ideal chance to get involved with the local community, meet new friends and start your week off right by getting outside in the fresh air.

Friends of Mauldeth Road Station are a friendly local group who meet regularly to maintain and improve the environment around Mauldeth Road station. They have have already established a triangle of shrubs and flowers outside the ticket office. The next project is to develop the area on the corner of Mauldeth road near the bridge.

You don’t need any skills or qualifications to take part in this volunteering opportunity, just lots of enthusiasm! And an interest in the environment would be a bonus.

Please wear old clothes that you don't mind getting dirty in and bring some waterproof clothing in case of rain. Please also wear sturdy footwear. If you do not have appropriate sturdy footwear such as walking boots or wellington boots, please email frances.muscatelli@manchester.ac.uk with your size and I can bring some for you.

We will be volunteering from 10am - 12noon on Monday 10th November at Mauldeth Road, Burnage, Lancashire, M14 6SQ.
