Organisation Description: Head Up! is all about making higher education more accessible for disabled school students. In our mentoring programme, we match uni students with 14-18yos to share advice, support and solidarity.
Description of role: We are recruiting members to join the Head Up! team. We are a group of university students and graduates who have a variety of disabilities (physical and/or mental health conditions, specific learning difficulties or neurodivergence), looking to recruit for a variety of roles that will support the core of our mission. All of the roles are remote, accessible, and have a commitment of maximum 1-2 hours a week (average). It's an opportunity to change young people's lives, whilst working with a supportive team and gaining invaluable experience.

We are currently recruiting for:

Deputy Safeguarding Lead:
- Duties - support the Designated Safeguarding Lead to review and update our policies, respond to any issues, deliver training.
- Skills - experience not required - we'll fully fund Level 3 training.
- Time commitment - est. 1-2 hours per week (average - variable) + initial training.

Finance Lead:
- Duties - update our accounts, apply for grants and write post-grant reports for donors.
- Skills - numerical literacy, strong communication skills.
- Time commitment - est. 2 hours per week (average, open to role-share).

Data Protection Lead:
- Duties: review policies on data protection, train the wider team on good practice
- Skills - able to translate legalese into understandable policies and practices for others.
- Time commitment - est. 1 hours per week.

Web Developer:
- Duties: review and update our website, liaise with social media team to support posts.
- Skills - no coding required - wordpress can be learned
- Time commitment - est. 1-2 hours per week, open to role-sharing.

Content Lead:
- Duties: commission, edit and produce written content for the website, liaise with web team to upload.
- Skills: confident writer, strong communication skills.
- Time commitment: est. 1-2 hours per week (average, can role-share). Our writing roles are ad-hoc.

Mentoring co-lead
- Duties: manage mentee/mentor recruitment, arrange training, emails/admin, match pairs, mentor support.
- Skills: strong communication skills, well-organised, friendly.
- Time commitment: est. 2 hours per week (average, role-share).

Development and Events Lead:
- Duties: help build ties with partner groups, volunteers and supporters; organise online events.
- Skills: well-organised, good communicator.
- Time commitment: est. 1-2 hours per week.

Fundraising Officer:
- Duties - research, plan and deliver new online and on-campus fundraising efforts.
- Skills: social media and good communication skills.
- Time commitment: est. 1-2 hours per week, variable depending on when events are taking place.
