Organisation Description: Irish Community Care is a registered charity which exists to identify and respond to the needs of both the Irish and Irish Traveller communities across the north west.



We currently offer a range of front-line information, advice and outreach support services including welfare benefits advice and advocacy, support around homelessness, seeking more appropriate accommodation, poor health, drug or alcohol misuse, cultural and social isolation. We also facilitate activities and groups to enrich and grow our community
Description of role: Are you passionate about Irish history and community connection? Join us in facilitating the Manchester History Club, a vibrant group exploring the rich heritage of the Irish community in Manchester.

Role Purpose
To guide and support the Manchester History Club by shaping discussion topics, suggesting culturally relevant activities, and ensuring the group’s interests and needs are met.

Role Activities
As a facilitator, you will:
- Lead the direction of the group, including discussion topics, guest speakers, and local cultural trips
- Prepare prompts and guide group discussions
- Engage with the group’s digital channels (e.g., WhatsApp) and welcome new members
- Liaise regularly with ICCM staff to share updates and request support
- Build strong relationships with staff, volunteers, and service users
- Follow the ICCM Volunteer Agreement guidelines
