Organisation Description: Little Green Sock Project is a children's charity providing essential clothing, toiletries and equipment to families in crisis - we do this by reusing children's items donated by the local community and supporting organisations. This could be due to financial hardship or circumstances such as escaping war or domesic abuse. We work with a wide range of referral partners who refer families for support, and we support approx 100 children per month.
Description of role: To support our fundraising team by producing compelling first drafts of funding applications and researching potential grant funders, helping us to secure vital income to sustain and grow our services.
Key Responsibilities
> Review grant eligibility criteria to assess suitability for the charity.
> Research funders’ priorities, strategies, and previous grant-making activity.
> Draft initial applications, drawing on our impact data, reports, and case studies.
> Write persuasive and creative content tailored to each funder’s requirements.
> Work closely with staff to refine applications before submission.
> Maintain a record of funder research and application progress.
Skills & Qualities Needed
> Strong written communication and creative writing ability.
> Good research and analytical skills.
> Ability to understand and align with funders’ priorities.
> Attention to detail and ability to work to deadlines.
> Enthusiasm for learning and a genuine interest in the charity sector, fundraising, or social impact.
